45).Trial by Fire-Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Trial by Fire is the second novel in the series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes about a human girl named Bryn who was rescued by werewolves when her parents were murdered by a Rabid werewolf.
*SPOILER ALERT*
In this book Bryn is the Alpha of her own pack, consisting of teenagers and children who were kidnapped and turned into werewolves by the same Rabid who killed Bryn's parents.
Bryn and Chase' relationship has blossomed, Ali has made a connection with Lakes dad Mitch.
One day a stray werewolf, Lucas basically crawls onto their territory because he was beaten so badly that he was stuck in between human and wolf form. The pack nursed him back to health and found out that he belonged to Shays pack and that Shay had sold him to humans and the humans were the ones who beat him.
After an encounter with the "humans" that are after Lucas, Bryn finds out that they aren't just any humans, they all have physic powers. One can whistle and anyone who she wants will be immobile awhile she is whistling, another can aim and shoot any weapon and never miss her target, and throne that can go into people's dreams has been harassing Byrn that way.
Then they have a big fight Bryn's pack against the physics because Shay wants the girls from the pack. And then the biggest surprise ever, well I had somewhat guessed it, Ali's mom is the leader of the physic coven!
So the pack wins the fight and they let Lucas come into their pack. Then the worst thing ever happens..... He challenges Bryn for the alpha spot!
I loved this book because it was so intense! There was so much going on. Bryn grows as a leader. We find out tons of secrets, and things that could lead to finding out more secrets. I just loved it and can't wait for the next one.
46). City of Ashes: Kissed- Cassandra Clare
I don't know what to say about this short story. I don't feel any different now that I've read it. It's nice that we get to peek into this "private" part of their lives, but I also I could have lived without it. So I'm partial.
47).Unleashed- Nancy Holder
Katelyn dreamed of making it big in L.A. She was a dancer and a gymnast until the earthquake that killed her mother. Katelyn's only living relative was a grandfather who didn't even come to her mothers funeral, so she was shipped out to the boonies to live with him.
Katelyn automatically finds a friend in Trick a friend of her grandfathers. Trick ends up being Katelyn's chauffeur and drives her to school everyday. Katelyn also bonds with a girl from school, Cordelia, who has a rather strange family and family values. Also, Katelyn becomes interested in Cordelia's cousin Justin, even though he has a girlfriend they find themselves lip locked a couple of times.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Katelyn's grandfather is pretty easy going, the only thing he asks Katelyn to do is be home before dark and don't go out alone in the dark. Katelyn followed these rules until one night she was driving home and got a flat tire. She was changing her tire when something came out of the darkness and grabbed her and drug her into the forest. It was a wolf, the same wolf that had tried to attack her one night when she was with Trick. The wolf had bright blue eyes. Katelyn escaped and was running towards her truck when the wolf lunged and bit into her calf. Katelyn managed to survive only because she hit the wolf in the shoulder with a tire iron. The would was bad. She had to get stitches and rabies shots. But miraculously about a week later you couldn't even tell she had been bit.
Katelyn let her best friend Cordelia know about what had actually bit her, Katelyn was telling people it was a stray dog. Cordelia was shocked. Afterwards Cordelia came clean to Katelyn. She was a werewolf, and so were the other members in her family including Justin. She believed that on the full moon Katelyn might turn so she offered to be there with her.
Come full moon, Katelyn and Cordelia camp out in the woods. Katelyn turns, and when they wake up in the morning Cordelia's family in there. Cordelia's dad Lee is supper pissed off. He assumes as well as everyone else that Cordelia bit her despite Katelyn and Cordelia disagreeing. Lee banishes Cordelia from the pack bemuse he is the alpha and attacking humans is against the rules. But Lee keeps Katelyn in the pack.
After all this, Justin has to take Katelyn home to her grandpas house. On the way they stop and look for Cordelia. They are going through the woods and something scratches Katelyn. It's a silver wolf trap. Normally the silver would have killed Katelyn, but it only wounds her. Justin is so shocked he exclaims "what are you?" and this is where the first novel ends.
I enjoyed this novel. It could have been more exciting leading up towhen you actually learn about the werewolves. But I will definitely read the second novel.
48). The Mating- Nicky Charles
This is the first novel is the series by Nicky Charles about a female werewolf named Elise. Elise had it all. She was the alphas daughter and she thought that she would be mated to the love of her life Brian. But all of that changed one day when she returned from a run and found out that he dad had basically sold her off to be another alphas mate.
The good thing was that Kane was extremely handsome and was genuinely nice to her. They had to prove their bonding by showing the pack the bloody sheets (part of the deal was that she would be a virgin). Despite their bonding Kane did not push Elise to blood bond with her. The following day packers had packed all of Elise's things and away she went with her new mate to his pack.
Once introduced to the pack, Elise found that she really liked everyone except for one female Marla, only because Marla was trying to get Kane from Elise. And everyone knew what Marla was trying to do except Kane.
Weird things were happening to the pack, like oil had somehow spilt into their river, a pack member had been shot, the old alphas brakes on the car he was killed in we're tampered with, etc... Kane and some of the pack believe that Kane's brother, Ryne might have had something to do with it.
Ryne left the pack after he challenged Kane for the alpha position and lost the fight. Despite losing the fight Kane let him live. Shortly after Ryne left the pack. His scent had been noticed on the packs land, and usually near where the incidents were occurring. Now the pack just had to find a way to prove that it was Ryne.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Elise finds out some strange things that have to do with Marla. Finding the red sports car that shot rocks at her at a garage where the owner said he was dating a woman named Marlene. Marla's s net being present in the car, among other things. Elise try's to warn Kane of her suspicions but is brushed off.
Near the end of the book we find out that everything that has happened that was bad was Marla's doing. She had tampered with the brakes on Zach's car, the reason for him driving over the edge and perishing. She had stolen documents from Kane about the land and sold it to the oil companies. And she would have killed Elise if Ryne hadn't interfered. And to top it off she had framed Ryne for everything.
Kane came at the last minute and helped win the fight against Marla. But when they went back to dispose of the body..... It was gone.
So now with the coming book I am excited to see what goes on and if Marla makes an appearance. I really enjoyed this book it was entertaining and full of secrets and mysteries. The only thing that was a little off putting was that it was basically a porno. Haha but that kept it interesting and let you know that the main characters loved each other despite their rocky start.
49). Nordic Fairies- Saga Berg
(Free book given to me by the author)
This story is about a fairy named Svala, who lives with her "uncle" Trym. Trym is more of Svala's keeper. He stays with her until the bargain that she made in the 10th century is fulfilled. This bargain was that if she became a Liosalfar, a light fairy, her incentive being Viggo the boy who had captured her heart, then they could be together. Viggo also had agreed to the same terms. As long as the both held their end of the bargain they could be together for an amount of time during their lives.
These assignments could be anything that the light fairies needed. Once the assignments were completed they got to be together. Sometimes it was years, sometimes months, and once only days, but it was worth it for them to get to be with the one they loved.
*SPOILER ALERT*
During this life, Svala and he friends go to see Viggo because he is famous. They go to his autograph signing. At first Svala try's to avoid him because she doesn't want to break the agreement, but then she has to find out if Viggo remembers her. Svala risks it all to give Viggo a note when she gets to him at the signing. It states "please nod if you recognize me. I'm worried about you." Viggo doesn't nod. This turn of events breaks Svala's heart. Viggo must have turned to the Dockalfar, the dark fairies.
Then right before Svala plans to fly out of New York, Viggo comes to her. He remembered her but he didn't want the dark fairies to find out who she was. Viggo and his keeper have suspicions that Trym is feeding information to the dark fairies because he lover turned dark. Svala starts putting things together but doesn't know who she can trust.
This story was a good quick read. It left me with a few unanswered questions, like more about where these two come from and their pasts together. But I'm sure they will be answered in the next books. I liked the cliff hanger at the end because I want the next story NOW!! Just a thanks to Saga for this book to read and review and can't wait for the next ones.

I just wished that books never ended.
31). Initiate- Tara Maya
32). Taboo- Tara Maya
33). Sacrifice- Tara Maya
34). Prince of Wolves- Quinn
I enjoyed this book. I found that the main Character Jacque was kind of annoying and whinny thoughout the whole book and never really matured. Also every other character put up with this kind of behavior. I didn't like all of the "jokes" that we're in the novel I found a lot of them to be really corny. but over all it was a good quick read and I will read the next installment.
35). 13 to Life- Shannon Delany
I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be fast paced and kept the reader interested. If you are into werewolves novels and action packed romances this wil be a good read for you. There are werewolves, CIA and the Russian Mafia. The best part of the book is the ending and then you get to start the next book. Also I look forward to seeing what happens between Jessica and Sarah. I wish we got to learn more about Amy but hopefully that is coming. The only thing I will critic is that Jessie is supposed to be part of the school newspaper and the only part we see of that is on page 212 where her and Sophie start to have a meeting and it ends. But overall a good quick read.
36). Secrets and Shadows- Shannon Delany
*SPOILER ALERT*
I enjoyed this book for the most part. The parts I liked were the ending because now I can't wait to read the third one, I like that we are finally finding out the secrets like why Derek is the way he is and how he plays into the whole thing. Also i like how we find out why Amyis the way she is. You learn a lot about people that you wouldn't have guessed.
I didn't like how long it took for Pietr to break up with Sarah and admit he wants Jessie and I didn't like how at the end Jessie was basically blackmailed into going to Pecan Palace.
Can't wait for the next one.
37). Bargains and Betrayals- Shannon Delany
*SPOiLER ALERT*
Okay so I must say I like this book the best so far in the series.it was the most action packed. Jessie escaped from the asylum, there were bombs, they had to ask for the help of the Russian mafia, CIA might not be the CIA, they break Tatiana out. It's just crazy! And now I really can't wait for the next one. Have they all taken the "cure" will it actually work or do they have to drain Jessie and Anna dry to keep living. I need to go to Chapters right now and get it.
38). Fateful- Claudia Gray
So I really enjoyed this book. I like how it has real life tied in with fantasy. I enjoyed the character of Tess because even though she was a maid she was strong willed and spoke her mind even if it would end in her losing her job. * SPOILER ALERT* When I got near the end I was frustrated because I thought that it was going to end with everyone dying. Then as I read on it got better. And actually I liked how it ended on a happy note. Although in some parts I did want to cry like imagining the two old ladies that shared their room drop owning then Tess seeing the one again when she went to look for Alecs body. I wouldn't mind finding out more of their story but I doubt that there will be a sequel.
39). Linger- Kodilynn Calhoun
I enjoyed this book even though it was short. I think that it would be even better as a novel. I want the details
Feral Attraction- Coral Moore
Ok so when I read reviews and people were saying this was short I didn't realize that it was this short. The bonus material for the next book is longer then this story haha. I did enjoy this story but I found it to jump around and not give veryuch info. One minute Bera is rubbig against him then all of a sudden they appear in his room and are going to do it. It's too jumpy but the real book might be okay.
41). An Iron Fey Valentine- Julie Kagawa
42). Magic of the Moonlight- Ellen Schreiber
* SPOILER ALERT*
This is the second novel by author Ellen Schreiber about Celeste and Brandon. Brandon is the boy from the wrong side of the tracks who happens to have stolen Tess' heart. Oh did I forget to mention the Brandon also happens to be a werewolf.
In the novel, Celeste is being blackmailed by her old crush Nash because he saw Brandon change into werewolf form and is threatening to tell everyone unless Celeste dates him. Celeste is going along with it for now because she doesn't want anything bad to happen to Brandon.
Brandon also is wanting to have his and Celeste's relationship out in the open but agrees to keep it a secret for now due to the Nash issue. Brandon comes clean about being a werewolf to his father hoping that his dad being a scientist can help cure him.
Nash has a bigger role in the novel near the end when he himself is "bitten under a full moon" and shifts into a werewolf.
I enjoyed this light and fast paced novel because it keep me entertained and it is a series so I can't wait for the next book! I would have liked it more if the characters were more in depth.
43). Treachery- Andrea Cremer
I really liked this novella because you get to see Ansel's perspective on why he did what he did. Also you learn how he was made to believe that Calla betrayed the pack. I like when you get more then one perspective because then you find out both sides of the story and don't have to assume things based on one persons theories
44). Raised By Wolves- Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Raised by Wolves is the first Book in the series by Jennifer Lynne Barnes about Bryn, a human living with a pack of werewolves.
At the age of four Bryn's parents were murdered by a Rabid werewolf (a wolf with no pack) luckily Bryn was saved by Callum and his pack. The pack adopted Bryn like one of their own and let her live with another human, her adoptive mother Ali, who married into the pack.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Bryn keeps having nightmares about the Rabid who attacked her, but she knows that Callum had killed him. Then she finds Chase. He was locked away in Callums basement in a cage. He told Bryn something that played in her mind for a long time. "I was bit". Bryn is furious. No one told her that humans could be changed into werewolves. Finally she can't take it anymore and gets permissions from Callum to see Chase. One thing leads to another and they discover that the Rabid who bit Case is the same one who attacked Bryn, which means that Callum and the pack have been lying to her the whole time that she's lived with them.
Bryn vows to kill the Rabid. Her, Chase and Bryns two best friends Devon and Lake track the Rabid and find out what he has been up to. Stealing children and turning them. The Rabid who is named Wilson found the secret to changing humans. The must be resilient and have the need to survive over anything else. Bryn uses her ability to change pack bonds and frees the children from Wilson's bond. The children realize that he is bad news and kill him for what he has done to them. The newly alpha free pack decide that Bryn should be their new alpha.
Callum and Bryn end up friends again in the end, but Callums physic power leads Bryn to believe that one day she will be challenged for the pack.
I liked this book. It's different because it's about a human living with werewolves and never being changed into one. I'm going to start the next one right away because I want to know what is next for Bryn and her pack of misfits.

Corsets & Clockwork: 13 Steampunk Romances Review
I just finished reading this book and I give it a 3/5 rating. I found some of the stories boring and some not really about Steampunk at all. Most of the stories were by quite popular authors and some I had to look up. I really liked: Rude Machanicals- Lesley Livingston, The Cannibal Fiend of Rotherhithe- Frewin Jones, Deadwood- Michael Scott, The Airship Gemini- Jacyln Dolamore. The others were okay.
